Curtin University, established in 1966 and named after former Australian prime minister John Curtin, is a global university based in Perth, Australia. Leadership

Professor Lalith Gamage | Managing Director

Professor Lalith Gamage is the President/CEO of SLIIT. He established the institute in 1999 and the following year he was recognised with The Outstanding Young Person of the Year (TOYP) award for Academic Leadership.

Professor Gamage has served in key government positions and holds prominent roles in organisations including the Lanka Software Foundation and the Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies.

With a PhD from the University of British Columbia, his research focuses on computer vision, computational intelligence, robotics and evolutionary computing. He currently holds adjunct professorships at the University of British Columbia and Curtin University.

Professor Mahesha Kapurubandara | Pro Vice-Chancellor – International

Professor Mahesha Kapurubandara is an accomplished researcher in ICT and has strong leadership skills in higher education. With expertise in internationalisation, transnational education and strategic planning, she has built successful partnerships and established new education campuses.

Having served as a faculty member at Western Sydney University and as the Dean, International at SLIIT, Professor Kapurubandara brings a wealth of experience to Curtin University Colombo, She has also taught as a guest professor at Uppsala University, Sweden, and Nanjing University, China. Her research focuses on ICT for SMEs, women’s entrepreneurship, and business process management, and she has published extensively.

Professor Kapurubandara holds a doctoral degree from Western Sydney University, a master’s degree from AIT, Thailand, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Uditha Gamage | Chief Operating Officer

Mr Uditha Gamage has more than 20 years of experience in the education service industry. With an MBA in IT and a bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, he has a wealth of knowledge that combines technical expertise with managerial acumen.

Formerly the Chief Student Services and Outreach Officer at SLIIT, Mr Gamage prioritises student-centric initiatives and fosters a conducive learning environment. His educational background and expertise ensure Curtin University Colombo’s commitment to quality education, inclusivity and success.
